Onyx Cover
In the highly unlikely event you missed this on Bungie.net today.
Oh I see what's going on... you skimped out on our interview (UNSCDF) to do one with Bungie! Eh- just kidding, I'm sure you had this planned out before I asked you about our interview anyway (humm.. maybe this should be in an email, but how is that coming?).
Extremely exciting read though, especially the "not finalized" cover art, and the description on the back. I'm really pumped for the book now!
I demand recompensation, Mr. Nylund, for my pants, which are now no longer able to be worn.
In public, at least. o_O
In all seriousness, my anticipation of the novel has reached a fevered pitch. Here I was thinking in entirely unoriginal ways about what to expect, and then I read that stuff on the back of the novel, and it's like the Awesome Sauce Fairy comes by with an 8 Gauge Double Barrel and just blows everything that I had prepared myself for away and replaces it with this amazing and new set of ideas about what to expect from this next work of yours.
Wow, that's so awesome. If the Signal books were ever made into a full fledged movie I'd camp out. I shit you not. I'm onto my second copy of them because I wore the other two down the nub from rereading them so much.
It may be sad, but I just reread my copy of A Game Of Universe today because of the BWU thing last night. The whole Medea story is the most depressing tale ever. It was excellent writing.
Sounds like one very very nice book. My wife is going to miss my for a couple of days. 'Honey, aren't you comming to bed'.... 'Just.... one, two...pages more......' :O)
Eric, you are a great author! I really enjoyed the other two Halo books you have written. One thing is certain, I'll look forward to Onyx with much anticipation!
I have a couple of questions? Will the book pick up at the end of HALO 2, and end at the begging of HALO 3? Or, is this a side story that happens at the same time or in conjuction with HALO 3? Either way I can not wait to read it. Is there a book that chronicles HALO 2?
Hey hard, to save eric some time for answering, he can't tell you about the book. Gave his word (or was threatened, however bungie ninja's do it exactly) not to speak about it. Nor should a writer ever have to explain his work to a reader (as i've learned over the years from different writers). I myself would love to know, but a month's wait won't hurt.
Jake – release date (fingers crossed) Oct 31/Nov 1 timeframe.
Covert pinecone - -dang! Man, I _still_ haven’t read the HGN in detail yet. It’s sitting on a shelf right next to my computer. Just too busy with GEARS OF WAR and a few other projects.
Hardlogic – heh - -like s_b said we don’t do *spoilers* here. ; )

Still, as i said earlier, i like the picture, but i'm not so sure about the title-scheme.

What do you think about the Halo Graphic Novel, Mr Nylund? Do you think it competes with the novels in terms of story and characters?
