“My Novels” Updated

I finally added content to the “My Novels” section of this site (see the link on the right hand menu). Actually I handed the content to Syne and she formatted it for me (it’s good to be married to a beautiful web diva).

She told me there’s a very small, very subtle Easter Egg somewhere in there. Darned if I can find it, though.

Easter egg, eh? I thought it was this:
"Roland Pritchard: “My life stinks, but I have my dreams to escape.”
Eugene Rhodes: “Your dreams are real.”
Roland Pritchard: “Cool.” (learns MAGIC and POLITICS and DIPLOMACY)
THE END "

Couldn't find anything else, but i was just reading it. Though i did find it amusing to sum up the entire book in 3 lines like that.

Also, were the summary's all just the back cover's of the books? They sounded awfully familiar...

Nice. When I get some spare time, I'll be checking out "Pawn's Dream".

I've read the Jack Potter series and it was amazing.

As I'm looking through the list, a question that I've had in the past came to mind again.

How does the artwork get on your book covers? Do the artists actually read the book and draw something accordingly or do they just read the back cover and work from there? Does someone just say what to draw and they do it having no idea at all? Also, do you have a say in what it ends up being or is it up to some marketing director that, hopefully, knows how the hell to market?

SB--Nope Easter Eggs are _a lot_ more subtle than that :) The only summery that is the back cover copy is GHOSTS...as I am avoiding spoilers until it's released.

EMF – thanks!

Nikoda -- only rarely does an author have enough power to influence their cover art. Most of the time it’s out of our hands. If the artist reads it or not...sometimes yes, sometimes no.

Yes, the easter egg was not the quote, obviously, but hey, you live with her. Use those tactics of language to force it out of her.

I was just directed to this site. It's pretty new, so a lot of contents missing. So I'm glad to see that you're adding stuff and not totally abandoning it. Good job.

I like this section. First, for a list of all your books. Second, for a description of the books. I hate when someone recommends a book to you, and doesn't tell you a thing about it.

BTW, I'm readin Signal Shattered right now. It's kewl.

So, if you were up at 2am coding HTML for your sweetie, wouldn't you slip in a teesy bit of un-sanctioned code?

I sure would. ;>

What was really fun was watching Eric trying to guess what sneaky little thing I'd do. Man, was he WAY off!

It's very subtle, but unmistakable. When you trigger it, you'll know I was there...

Damnit, i figured it'd be with the HTML. Ugh...now i feel obligated to look for it. There goes my day.

Can't see it either... oh well.

Never knew you had written so many novels, I'll try and pick them up somewhere. Sound pretty interesting, though.

A day wasted, and nothing found.

BTW, nice interview on IGN.

Actually, it wasn't so great. They didn't get any answers at all. They didn't fight hard enough. It was like they gave up beforehand. Did they just wave a white flag before even asking to do the interview?

Oooh, snap. Found it, but I don't know how Eric feels about me calling his wife a babe, so I'll let my wife do it in her post.

Ah...I wonder what it's like to be married to a woman so modest. *G* Of course, it's true, so it's allowed. Good one, Syne!

wow, i'm even more annoyed now. I can't find it even knowing what i'm looking for. I'll blame the lateness of the hour...

Ha!

I was expecting too much; that's what made me have such a hard time finding it! Also, I did something very smart, but then was very dumb in not realizing that I had to do that "smart thing" for every page in that section. D'oh!

Nice, Mrs. Mitchell-Nylund. Thanks for giving Mr. Nylund's fans something to hunt for: it was fun, lol.
