Next HALO Novel?
First, thanks for all the positive fan email for GHOSTS. You may notice my replies getting short as I am overwhelmed by the volume of it. My apologies.
Many people have asked if I’m writing the next HALO novel, what it’s about, and when it is coming out.
Yes, it is true that TOR and Bungie have two more HALO novels planned. As you can guess, however, the details about who is writing them, what they are about, and when they’ll be published is entirely up to Bungie to release the public. Thanks for understanding.

Eric,
I, like all Halo fans, am excited that more novels are coming out. I just hope that you have a part in them yet again.
And I'm sure I can speak for everyone when I say we appreciate your time taken out for the fans and such, despite your plate full of work and your hair. :)
On with the chlorophyll!
I saw your response to Sir Brilliant about typos in a previous comment, but is there any way for us to send in to TOR a list of page numbers/paragraphs that might help identify the typos?
I (scrupulously) bent the bottom of pages as I went to hail minor defects.
The experience wasn't detrimental for me, though. I still found the narration superb till the very end (and I did consume it all in about a 24 hour period). Thanks for writing! I shall gather my wits and deduce future plot points with my fellow buds in the very near future (after they borrow my copy or buy their own).
Really cool ending, definitely falls into the "Whoa" category there. Great job on the book though, really great read. Can't wait to hear about the next books!
I'm excited. I love the Halo Novels.
And I think I can speak for just about everyone when I say, no offense to William Dietz, but you're the author that should be behind the novels.
In response to benjamin scott (well, he responded to me!), I do the exact same thing. Find all the mistakes and basically have them down (what page, paragraph, line, word...hey, it's a science). If you want, you can just send it to eric's email at eric@ericnylund.net.
But to tell the truth, from other authors i've known, they usually see all the mistakes and will remember them until the next publishing comes out for them to fix it.
I just got GoO the other day and started reading it, but I refuse to say anything further until i finish. Which should be soon. I hope.
Just finished it last night and WOW! Excellent book. I agree with others and also hope to god that you will be the author behind the future novels. It took me a full three days to read with school and work factored in, but that's still two days more than I was expecting. I think I'll be looking into picking up some of your other work very soon.
Thanks so much for the great read! It kind of counterbalanced the crushing news that the Halo movie's production has been suspended indefinitely... :-/
Yeah. I don't plan on mentioning anything else about the books minor flaws unless Eric responds in like manor. I figure he had plenty of sleepless nights writing the beast (GoO); I don't need to add to his previous toil. But I do endorse his brilliance, and that's why I brought up the typos - in order to be helpful (if possible) towards his continued brilliance.
I am a huge halo fan as well as book fan...and now that I found out about this book I difinately will be picking it up asap.
Thanks everyone for the comments.
Again I have to stress that all decisions relating to future HALO books are controlled by Bungie.
RE: Typos. I hope to find out this week where to send any discovered errors. Stand by.
well, considering im not good at spelling, and always weighed down with hockey football and track. I hope you can understand what your books have ment to me. Their an excusse to escape chores from my mom and an even better one from my dad, hes always been presuring me into sports and has been sucsessful in that considering im second string varsity, has a junior. but thats not the point im trying to get across. ive played the game halo maybe twice. but i read the first book completly by chance(Fall of Reach) in fact it was the first book i ever read that had more than 200 pages. my dad brought it home from track and i was just getting done mowing the yard and i kinda got into an argument with him, and to kinda give us some space he through the book my way and i cought it went to my room and was going to clean my rollarblades out, but decided to read, never b4 have i read a book that was made to fit my intrests as good as the Halo books. the plot was perfect. and setting just has i always wanted in a book to read. With in the past 7months i have read and purchased my first books ever and all are yours except one of dietz's. but have loved everyone of them. I wish you the best and hope u can understand how much your books mean to me, and i can only hope that you will continue. P.S. ( i thought the ending on "Ghosts" was pure genious in the view of how to end a book. but for some reason i wanted more but then realized hey there are more books to come and i look back now and think about how dumb my complaining really was.) Thank You

Well, I don't know if you can answer this, but what is this "Halo 1" due in 2007?: [url]http://www.amazon.ca/Halo-1-Eric-Nylund/dp/1405090626/sr=1-11/qid=1164500438/ref=sr_1_11/702-2676753-9346426?ie=UTF8&s=books [url/]
I just wanted to thank you for an entertaining Thanksgiving. I am a 47 year old mom of a big Halo fan. I have listened to my son babble on about Halo, the Flood, Spartan-117, Grunts, Jackels, Elite, etc without having a clue as to what he was talking about. I nodded politely. I picked up the Fall of Reach a few days ago and couldn't put it down. I just finished Ghosts of Onyx last night. My son is stunned as in "OMG, my Mom is reading HALO!!!!" I am looking forward to your next Halo novel and I hope Bungie has sense enough to commission you to write it. Thanks!
As tiresome as this must be, I still feel that I must join the ranks of wellwishers and people in general that feels that it's their responsibility to present their thanks for another wellwritten book(Ghosts of Onyx).
Though I have to say that you had me going there for a moment, since I didn't know before I entered your website that there's to come 2 more HALO books.
Well I'll spare you from reading pages of thanks from my part, since these fellows before me has already done a marvellous on that part.
So! With nothing more really to add, Thanks! And hats of for the only writer one would hope the HALO books should ever have!
Eric,
Let me just get this out. I love your books. To death. I have been waiting for more HALO books since the three released oh-so-long ago. I recently read Onyx, and am pleased to say it answered a lot of questions resonating through my head. I am now overwhelmed to find out that my anticipated novels are, in fact, REAL!!! I hope one of which is a book for Halo 2, like Flood was for Halo. Thanks again, for being simply such a great writer!
So many series that follow games have nowhere near the intelligence, plot, and background that you have provided in the three novels. When I rushed to the bookstore after realizing the day was here, I quickly found that Ghosts was in the Bestseller section, where it deserved to be.
When I commented about the Bestseller status a worker told me that "Video Game books are horrible." I said that his logic paralleled the basis for K-Fed getting an Emmy, which of course was lost on this ignorant worker. But at least I got a great laugh from it, as I hope others here will as well.
Truly sad is that I finished the 383 pages in just under 7 hours 42 minutes. I will have to re-read several times, and forsee a future of lost productivity at work.
Good thing I own my own successful company and make all the rules.
Truly fantastic Eric. My greatest thanks again.
I've read all four HALO books over the last couple of weeks, I must say I'm an advid halo fan, I truely hope that you are going to be the one writing the next Halo book, Def see a diference between your novels and William C. Dietz. You have a much better grasp of what the readers want.

What about a novel depicting grey team?
I have read all of the halo novels and they seem to more or less follow the games plot. Are the next books going to go forward and stay with what happens in halo 3( if you are a gamer you know what I mean). or are the next books going to go at its own pace? I have my own opinions about what will happen next but I wont drone on about that I will read the next books as soon as they come out cant wait hope eric rightes them.
