Thanksgiving
Every year I have more to be grateful for. This year was no exception. I’ve been blessed with a happy and healthy family. I’ve gotten to work on some amazing novels, graphic novels, video games, and scripts. And this year, I decided to come out of my hermitage, start this blog, and make contact with old and new friends, readers, and fellow writers.
It’s been an overwhelmingly positive experience to meet all of you.
As a writer, I know that my books have sold (and theoretically been read), but to actually converse with those that are reading what I have written...it’s been a humbling and uplifting thing.
My warmest thanks to everyone.

And my warmest thanks to you too.
You have served as a sort of inspiration of sorts for me lately. I have long been interested in writing a story and upon reading your blog I have gotten tips necessary to keep myself on track for said story (even now, I'm trying out your outline idea to see how it works for me!).
In a sense, it is humbling to know that I'm getting advice that is tired and true and that I know can be followed without going back and wondering why I did it.
Anyway, long post short, thank-you Mr. Nylund for being such a helping author/inspiration.
Thanks to you Eric.
Without your endeavors and talent, I think many of us wouldn't be as inspired as we are. I know I didn't care all that much for the story that is Halo until I read TFoR. Your other sci-fi writs are times well spent as well.
Happy late Thanksgiving BTW.

Good ideas are not adopted automatically. They must be driven into practice with courageous patience.

I haven't said hi in awhile, but I finally got to read ghosts, congratulations, the books just keep getting better and better! There were a lot of freakin published typos in the first couple of chapters, but I probably enjoyed this one the most thus far. Please tell me there are more.
As others have said (no doubt more eloquently than I), many thanks to you.
It must be odd, being where you are and seeing that not only to you have fans, but you have fans that listen to your words and gain inspiration (Well - not really... I've learned my lesson on that word!) from your advice. You've earned it, though. It takes a special author to get my gears going.
Happy thanksgiving all!
I'm not good at expressing myself so Happy late thanksgiving!!
Happy Thanksgiving, y'all.
And no, I'm not from the south.... :P
I am grateful for our meeting also, Mr. Nylund.
You are most welcome.
I hope this is the beginning and not the end of a continued correspondence.
:)
I finished the halo book...im rereading it it was so awesome!
I'm coming in a little late, but I still want to echo the glad tidings and the thank-yous for being worthy of such tidings.

I thought i'd just point out that the Canadian amazon (amazon.ca) has the Halo 1 paperback released yesterday. Here's a link. I'm just curious what Halo 1 is that you wrote Eric. Not that I trust amazon.com at all (another story), but still.

Great job this year with GoO and Gears of War Eric, they've been awesomely well recieved :) As for this blog, well, there's no better way to show our appreciation and support except than to buy the books :P
I'm seeing GoO spoilers everywere now... it's so annoying when I see the words "At the end of Ghosts of Onyx" and I have to randomly flail for the mouse while covering my eyes. I saw 315 "somethings" out of the corner of my eye that looked suspisciously like S3s. Gah. One month until it comes out here :(.
...and a thanks to you too. Your books have really helped me in the past. I've been through 3 knee surgerys, and I wasn't physically able to do anything for the longest time. But during those though times, I retreated to your books. You are one of my favorite authors, after Robert Heinlein, I hope you continue to write as long as you wish to do so...
Thanks everyone for the extremely kind words. It’s gratifying and humbling to know that you all have enjoyed the novels so much. Again, it’s great to have met everyone.
SB—that “Halo 1” thing on Amazon looks like a mistake (especially with the Nov 17 2006 pub date).
Pincone—sorry about the spoilers. Hard to avoid them if you’re on the Internet. : /
