Caught up!

After the wind storm knocked out power, followed by a Christmas trip, I lost two weeks off my writing schedule.

Today I am finally caught up on MORTAL COILS and my BATTLESTAR GALACTICA research—even a tiny bit ahead.

There is nothing grumpier than a writer with a deadline who is behind. Syne was great, giving me the extra time I needed while getting her own stuff done as well as being the best wife to me and mother to Kai. Thanks Syne!

As an unexpected bonus I was reading the latest section of MORTAL COILS and the GALACTICA script...and they’re good. Really good. Understand that I’m a pessimist when it comes to editing—never happy with any of my writing—so this is a nice change.

Despite it only being icy and 19 degrees Fahrenheit this morning, I feel like it’s summer.

You know, you're totally ruining the stereotype of writers being miserable drunken louts. ;o)

Thanks CP and Nikoda!

Nikoda – the stereotype isn’t “miserable drunken louts.” More accurately it’s “manic depressive louts.” :) Writing is an emotional rollercoaster. You’ve got to enjoy the highs while they last, and do your best to ride out the lows. As for “drunken” – that part _is_ accurate. Far too many writers drink to excess. But that’s another topic entirely.

Still happy,
Eric

Congrats, Eric. Let's hope you don't see too many more of those storms. At least until you finish your current work.

BTW, I know BSG is a TV series. I don't know much beyond that. Is this BSG project going to cover the beginnings?

Thanks r104d

EMF –The BSG comic series will cover the Cylon Wars. It’s the story of why artificial life turned on its human creators, and how humanity and machine fought to a standstill nearly destroying each other in the process. The TV show starts 40 years later with the breaking of the Cylon War armistice.

Ahhh. Cool.

So it will cover the origins of the story arc then?

Again, I'm not familiar with BSG, but it sounds cool. Might have to check it out, especially since our beloved author is penning it. ;)

Sweet. I can't wait to read Coils.

I have a question tho.

Since you're now(assumption), a decent amount of the way through the work on Coils, how does it compare to writing Ghosts? I mean, do you have more fun writing for an original storyline/universe, than for an existing one with it's own rules(ie: halo)?

Hi, I was wondering wether or not you were going to write a sequel to Halo: Ghosts of Onyx. I love all of your Halo books and I hope to read another.
