Mass-market paperback GHOSTS
The mass-market paperback version of HALO: Ghosts of Onyx has been released today. Smaller (the same size as the previous three HALO novels) and less expensive. Yay!
Read about the latest from New York Times Bestselling writer Eric Nylund, author of Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, Dry Water, Signal to Noise, and many others--including the upcoming Mortal Coils.

Hi Im making a book Mr. Nylund. Its kind of a twist beetween Your books (halo: The Fall Of Reach, Halo: First strike), Christpoher Paolini's Books (Eragon and Eldest), And Lynne Ewing's The Daughters of The Moon series. Any suggestions? Oh, and I forgot the year that First Strike ends in. Oops.
If you want I can send you the first couple chapters in Email form. Just in case. Its not going to be published more publicly than my school library, (ima 6th grader) but i will have the ©opyright stuff.
Thank you for your books.
Cool. I liked the old style of HALO books better. I don't know why.
I REALLY like the whole Commander Lash/Dusk storyline. You really communicate the desperation of humanity in the Covenant conflict. There is also the tried and true brains over brawn motif. Gets me every time.
I honestly dont know if anyone's asked this of yet, but are there any more halo books planned (following the events of ghosts of onyx)? If so, is there a general release date (ex. sometime between 2007 and 2010). More specific would be, obviously, better. I'm long overdue for my literary halo fix.
I dont need to tell you that I'm a huge fan of the halo books (considering a took the time to google your name and then follow that up by posting on your blog). It would be a disgrace to leave all of us Halo-philiacs hanging.
Thanks.
There's two more being made, that's all that Microsoft has said. Whether Eric will do them or anything about release hasn't been revealed.
I saw it at my Barnes and Nobles, it's smaller and cheaper, so I'll actually buy it (the first edition is to large and expensive to lug around in a backpack)
Thanks, EMF!
Scott -- Lash is one of my favorites, too. I love the high-tension WWII submarine warfare feel of the stealth ships and crews
Shantanu – What Pincone said. Bungie gets to release all the book details when they judge the time to be right. I have to keep my mouth firmly shut. I hope you understand.
Hey! Don't I get my questions awnsered!? *goes off and sulks in a cave*
Ayrae,
I'm not quite sure what to make of your question. The amalgam of books you're cobbling together sounds intriguing... but I'd don't know what kind of suggestions you're looking for. In any event, if you're taking characters and events straight from those novels it’s a violation of copyright law. I'm not a lawyer so I wouldn't even begin to speculate on the topic.
Also, regrettably I cannot look over your story for two reasons. First, people have sent me stories before, and then accused me of stealing their material to use in subsequent novels. It turns into a gigantic legal hassle. And second, my schedule is just too full to at the moment (full-time job, novel due, and family to take care of). I hope you understand.
All best wishes,
Eric
Mr. Eric Nylund,
I just have to say that you are one of the best writers that I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Every sentence has some sort of panash to it whether it be from the complexity of the words to the way it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Keep doing what your doing, ITS EXCELLENT.
Your Fan
Matt
Hi im Stephen,
I read all the halo books you wrote. They are amazing. I read them in a few days. I like how you use such detail in the books such as "The Absolution vanished from high orbit-reappeared in the center of the alien's field of fire. The hull of the destroyer superheated to white-flash vaporized, flowering into a ball of ultraviolet fire. The alien vessels comprising the octahedral formatioms deformed from the overpressure wave." Is there going to be more HALO books? I hope so because i cant wait

I always cringe when people post their addresses online, especially on popular blogs.
hi
Congrats on the new book. I literally just finished reading it and may I say that you have a great talent. I'll be reading any books that I can find by you and I hope you keep a story-line going with Halo. Hopefully the SPARTANS can find a way to end this.
Thank you for sharing your talent so we may be entertained.
One of my friends lent me "ghosts of onyx" the other day and I finished it the same day. I have played the games and I have read the other books and I love them! Please keep up the good work. Is there another one planned?
