A Great Comic Con 2007

My first Comic Con was an amazing experience! I want to thank all the fans who came to the panel and the signings. I'm grateful to have met you all.

I only wish it could have gone longer. I had so many other Halo-related stories to tell; I could have talked all day.

So many great things happened during the convention. First and foremost was the fantastic reception from the Halo fans at the panel. There is nothing like having a thousand people cheer when you get introduced to them. It is gratifying to know that I have connected with you through the novels.

Another extraordinary thing that happened was while I was wandering around taking pictures, a throng of people pushed down the showroom aisle and I got caught up in their wake. Camera in hand, a huge security guard planted himself in front of me and told me to get out of the way. I stood there like an idiot not knowing what was going on. The guard noticed my camera, and then asked me if I wanted my picture taken. I didn't know what he was talking about until he stepped aside, revealing Ray Bradbury! (for those of you who don't know, Bradbury is one of the most famous science fiction writers alive). So I had the great honor to have my picture taken with one of my heroes.

I talked to many interesting people--readers, writers, artists, retailers, publishers, editors, little kids, Princess Leia, Cortana!—and got to catch up with a bunch of old friends.

I can’t wait to do it again next year.

Man oh man...

What I would've given to have been there.

Alas, it was not meant to be this year.

Oh, well.

That's FANTASTIC that you got to meet and have your picture taken with Ray Bradbury! That must have been a really surreal experience.

Hope you're doing well, Mr. Nylund.

Best convention ever.

I’m definitely going in ’08. Maybe I see you guys there.

Msvalentine – it was great to meet you too. That costume was amazing! And getting you and the gentleman from WizKids in the MJOLNIR armor together for photos was too cool for words.

Hey its Cortana! The girl with the pretty Kimono. I loved meeting you and Joseph at Comic Con, it was a dream come true, I wish I had gotten a picture hugging you too, but pictures of the presenting you with the stuff to sign are just as good. You met your hero too, Ray Bradbury, thats awesome.

Well I'm now looking for my next kimono set which will be worn for the release of Halo 3 and a special tea ceremony to honor all of you who gave us this beautiful universe to dream in.

I hope to read more of your work, and the "Much Loved Book" is safe wrapped up in silk. Thank you!

Cortana
XOXOXOX

Mr. Nylund I loved meeting you at comic con, you told me to sign up for your blog because I told you I wanted to be an author and how your novels inspired me to write my own novels. Comic Con was fantastic and thanks for signing my copy of "Ghosts of Onyx".
