E-Socializing
So, heaven help me, I’m on Facebook now and Myspace.
I’m starting with Facebook. If you’re there, too, send me a friends request. Thanks.
I’ll get to MySpoace in a few weeks, but please understand if I don’t answer every MySpace query immediately.
This blog, though, will remain my anchor point. It will be where I post the best, juiciest stuff first.

welcome to the party!
Thanks for the friend add!
Everyone on Facebook can also join the 'Eric Nylund Fan Club'. We only have three members at the moment, so hopefully it expands. :)
Wooooo! First wall post!
Hey, Mr. Nylund.
I have sent you a friend request on Facebook.
I hope you enjoy it! I know that it really helps me keep in touch with old friends and colleagues. Whenever something big in their lives happens, it's easy to stay informed!
Not to mention birthday reminders!
A tip, though: group your friends using Facebook's grouping system. It will make your life a lot easier. For example, I have some groups like "Met in my hometown" and "Met through the internet" and "Part of this particular team" etc etc.
Enjoy!
Just remember what a horrible path this choice will take you down. It's no golden brick road...or even thorny, dark and sloshy. It's more like a pit that you dug, and continue to dig, trying to get to the treasure underneath.
Except that treasure is on the other side of the planet. Even Linkedin sucks too much time, but at least it's proven to be useful for business.
I like them. They let me be a sociable hermit. Makes friends who live in Australia seem a lot closer, too. That's a nice bonus.
Thanks for the warm greetings and tips everyone.
And thanks DD for setting up the fan club. I’d join...but it seems a little weird to join one’s own fan group?!
Angel—groups. Got it.
Facebook is tons of fun. I can see how it’ll cut into my schedule and writing time. Hmm. Better set some boundaries.
Yeah, joining your own fan club would be a little odd. :P
yea it relay does stop progress... every time i get on my computer (weather its to wright or whatever else) i have to check my myspace and facebook... they should have myspace AA gropes for people like me
There are some worthy social networks.
Though honestly, as long as you can control your time on it and don't get sucked into anything (like forums...yech!) you'll be fine.
There's a fair few Eric Nylunds floating around, so I joined the one that looks vaguely like you. :)
Congratulations on your entrance to social communities, Eric! I sent you a invite on Facebook, name's Bård Jørgen Spein! :)
