Mass Market Proofs

I got the proof pages for the mass-market version of Mortal Coils a few days ago. This is the stage where I go through and look for errors and omissions in the text and correct them.

Extra special thanks to people who have emailed me any typos they’ve spotted! It’s a huge help.

I like the font treatment on the pages: More Victorian, less Gothic.

Everything is in this mass-market edition that was in the original trade, including the reader’s study questions--and there’s a teaser chapter at the end from All That Lives Must Die, so you can get an advance sneak look at what will be happening to Eliot and Fiona....

That's great Eric. I'm totally pumped to finally read a new book. Should we ask how far along you are on the next installment?

Also, have you ever done a book signing? I hear they are dreadful for authors...

DZ-I had the third Mortal Coils book on schedule and then got sidelined by that HALO novella and a new thing I had to stop and drop everything to finish—and then these proof pages.

_Finally_ I'm getting back to the next MC book.

RE: book signings. I only very rarely do these things anymore. Like...never.

So... This All that Lives Must Die excerpt... Can we know approximately where in the book it takes place? :P

Jon-the except is a chapter from the first section on the new book. It's something important, enticing, and yet gives away none of the major plot points!

Definitely looking forward to getting my hands on this!

Eric, if you never do book signings - will you sign books mailed to you if they contain a return envelope?

I am very excited about this. I'll definitely be purchasing another copy of MC, just for the excerpt. And I'll also be pushing them under the noses of everybody else I know, just to move copies. :)

I honestly can't describe how excited I am to find out what happens next.

Also, I do dig the new cover, but I loved the gothic overtones of the original. I'm quite interested to see what happens with ATLMD.

Sorry for the double post.

*sigh* Never mind, you address that very question in the FAQ. Sorry.

Thanks everyone for the never-ending support!

Honestly, it’s a little hard NOT to talk about ATLMD. But that would spoil it. Would it?

Jeremy—glad you found that in the FAQ : ) You’d be surprised how many people _never_ look. On my list of things to do is redesign blog/website to make everything easier to find.

OK, we've already bought two copies because my son had to read it again and he couldn't remember who he leant his other copy to...is it possible to get the sneak peak after it comes out (since I'm/we're huge fans and wrote you a great review on Åmazon), or do I need to be long 3(!!!) paper copies. Or do you have other authors to recommend to keep my son satiated until the next book is out?

Are you publishing in an ebook format? and WHEN????

So glad you got to the Mass market. And thanks to the Anticraft who first turned us on to Mortal Coils. My son makes fun of my knitting, but great benefits have come from it!

Shannon—I hope we’ll be putting out a sneak peak section for ATLMD on the web for everyone to look at like we did for MORTAL COILS. I’ll be checking with TOR on that. RE: e-book. There is already an electronic version of Mortal Coils. : ) It’s on Amazon , B&N, and most e-retailers already.

Argh! I guess I'm going to have to buy the mass-market version in addition to my original copy so that i can get me some more MC!
